Ukrainian and French companies have signed a cooperation agreement to develop a constellation of Earth observation satellites, strengthening Ukraine’s access to space technologies.
On the Ukrainian side, the initiative is led by the New Energy of Ukraine Alliance, which unites defense, space, and IT companies including First Contact and the Advanced Jet Propulsion Laboratory. France is represented by Prométhée, a specialist in nanosatellite constellations.
The agreement was signed in the presence of senior French officials, including Pierre Helbronn, Special Representative of the President of France for Ukraine’s Reconstruction, and Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of state investment bank Bpifrance.
The project aligns with Ukraine’s broader plans to establish Space Forces by the end of 2025 and to field its own national satellite capabilities by 2030, making space technologies a cornerstone of both defense and reconstruction.
