The German Bundeswehr has announced that by the end of 2024, 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers will be trained in northern Germany. The training is conducted at Hub North, the largest training center for Ukrainian soldiers in Germany.

This training is part of the European training mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, known as EUMAM Ukraine. Several hundred German soldiers are involved in this effort, which includes instruction on combat operations as well as the use and maintenance of military equipment provided to Ukraine by Western partners.

Ukrainian soldiers are being trained on German Marder 1 infantry fighting vehicles and Leopard 1 main battle tanks. Additionally, in August, the fourth training mission for Ukrainian forces on the Patriot air defense system was launched in Germany.
